So, we moved into the city. Shopkat was not happy for the first month. She was extremely freaked out and I kept her in one room with a calming plug in. She especially did not like that there were still workers pounding and drilling and such during the day as our house was not completely finished. I really worried about turning her from an indoor outdoor cat into a house cat, but she has finally adjusted and all is well. Here she is laying on her meditation cushion in front of the Porch window that is in my sewing room.

3 years with Shopkat

Shopkat has now been with us 3 years. She is very healthy according to the vet. I attribute that to her living such a great and normal "cat" life. She goes in and out of the house, most of the time outside. We enjoy garden time together. In the morning I go out with my tea and walk around and she explores. She gets a lot of exercise being outdoors too. She seems to have gotten a little more loving lately. She will come sit on my lap at night where she never really did that before. She would just lay very close to me or on top of the couch near my head. What can I say? She is a great cat!

Shopkat and I have had some good times in the woods this winter. I snowshoe. It's been a long winter and I wonder if she would like to be outside more. We still have a lot of snow yet! She would be in her 20's if she were in human years. That's still pretty young!

holidays

This is another old post that I forgot to publish, maybe last year? Not sure, but I'll be putting up our 2012 Christmas tree this weekend. I'm sure it will be entertaining.
shopkat is really into the tree, ornaments and presents. I try to keep her away, and divert her attention. I gave her a gift bag for herself and it's pretty ripped up! She really likes it!

Shopkat has a cold. She has been sneezing and then she licks her nose. She seems to be OK, much like her usual self, except perhaps a little bossy!

The top photo shows you how Shopkat is Queen of our Woods! Today was a beautiful day, so I thought we would go outside, but she just went in the garage and wouldn't come outside. I guess she had her reason, perhaps she knew of predator out there. She stayed inside most of the day. When I was getting ready for a photo shoot for my barbieszenhouse shop today, she hopped onto the fabric and well, she got in the picture! Sweet kitty. Gotta love her!
