holidays

This is another old post that I forgot to publish, maybe last year? Not sure, but I'll be putting up our 2012 Christmas tree this weekend. I'm sure it will be entertaining.
shopkat is really into the tree, ornaments and presents. I try to keep her away, and divert her attention. I gave her a gift bag for herself and it's pretty ripped up! She really likes it!
This is an old post that I forgot to publish, so I thought I would do it now.

Shopkat has a cold. She has been sneezing and then she licks her nose. She seems to be OK, much like her usual self, except perhaps a little bossy!

The top photo shows you how Shopkat is Queen of our Woods! Today was a beautiful day, so I thought we would go outside, but she just went in the garage and wouldn't come outside. I guess she had her reason, perhaps she knew of predator out there. She stayed inside most of the day. When I was getting ready for a photo shoot for my barbieszenhouse shop today, she hopped onto the fabric and well, she got in the picture! Sweet kitty. Gotta love her!

Shopkat watching the chipmunk hole.
Since Shopkat had that tooth extracted, I began petting her and brushing her when she would eat to calm her and get her to eat! So now, almost a year later, she really wants me to brush her when she eats. She will bug me until I follow her to her food bowl and then I brush her and she eats. I wonder if other cats do this.

Shopkat's Vet apt.

So, I almost didn't want to have a physical for her as she seemed healthy and I was thinking about the cost. But in the state of Wisconsin, she can't get a rabies shot without a physical, so I caved. Good thing I did as the vet found that she had cracked a back molar and it was infected really badly and needed to be pulled. Great! So, $400 later, anesthesia, surgery, antibiotics and a two week INDOOR recovery period and she is good to go! she really hated being cooped up. But even worse was the soft food that she did not want to eat and she really hated me giving her the medicine! Ugh! what a pain! But it's all over and hopefully she will remain healthy until the end of her life.
